2026 BC Band at the State Fair

The sounds of Spartan pride echoed through Grand Island on Saturday, August 29, 2026 as the Boyd County Jr./Sr. High School Marching Band delivered a great performance at the Nebraska State Fair. The talented group of young musicians represented Boyd County on one of the state’s largest stages. Taking the streets at exactly 12:15 p.m., the band showcased three songs to an enthusiastic crowd of fairgoers, tourists, and supportive parents. Boyd County band director, Denise Hausmann, and the band would like to express immense gratitude for the massive turnout of the Boyd County family and fans who made the long trip to Grand Island, filling the parade route with cheering voices and unwavering community support.
Following their lunchtime performance, the students were granted free time to explore the agricultural exhibits, games, and marketplace food options that the Nebraska State Fair has to offer. The group returned safely to Spencer by late afternoon, completing another successful trip.
Community members and school staff have expressed immense pride in the students’ commitment. The annual state fair exhibition remains a marquee event for the Boyd County School’s music department and is backed by the best fans in the region. Thank you!
