4-H Extension Office Visits BC K-4th Graders for Game Changers
The 4-H Extension Office visited the Boyd County K-4th grade students for their Elementary Winter presentation to have students participate in Game Changers.
Game Changers is the 2019 Nation Youth Science Day challenge, National Youth Science Day provides access and opportunity for kids to learn about STEM topics (science, technology, engineering and math) by participating in a hands-on STEM challenge. For the past 11 years, 4‑H has developed hands-on challenges that shows kids how STEM skills can be applied to the world around them.
The 2019 Nation Youth Science Day challenge was designed by Google and West Virginia Extension Service, Game Changers teaches youth how to use computer science to create games, solve problems and engage with topics they’re passionate about.
Game Changers uses physical activity and puzzles to teach kids the important computer science concepts and problem-solving skills, creating real-world connections between computer science and civic engagement, healthy living and agriculture.
