The first graders at the west campus read the story The Gingerbread Man in reading class. They did literacy activities to go with the story. They followed up with activities such as decorating gingerbread paper boys/girls and building different things with different materials. They were given graham crackers, frosting, red hots, gum drops, chocolate chips, and pull apart licorice to use to build with. They made houses, race tracks, cookies, and all sorts of things.
