On April 30th, Denise Dennis took art pieces that her junior high and highschool students worked on over the last year to the NVC Art Show in Atkinson. The pieces were judged the night before by a panel of judges, and the show was open to the public all day on the 30th. Our art classes did very well, bringing home 23 ribbons between our Junior High and High School classes, all from various art categories, including: black and white drawings, pencil drawings, painting, sculpture, pottery, collage, and more. For our high school awards, Rachel Matthews brought home a ‘Best of Show’ ribbon for her watercolor painting, along with another ribbon, Kyra Gonzales was awarded four ribbons, Hannah Widstrom was awarded four ribbons, Leah Jockens was awarded one ribbon, Nevaeh Jockens was awarded one ribbon, Austinia Lattora was awarded one ribbon, and Alison Juhnke was awarded one ribbon. For our junior high awards, Brooklyn Eckert was awarded six ribbons, Will Nelson was awarded one ribbon, Addison Birmeier was awarded one ribbon, and Lilly Magwire was awarded one ribbon.
