The Boyd County Junior High Football team traveled to Stuart Monday to take on the Broncos. Inconsistent play by the Spartans left them with a 0-44 loss. The Spartans were able to move the ball at times with running backs Barrett Koenig, Charlie Adams, Alana Widstrom and Adam Bernt all gaining yards. However, the team stalled in the red zone and was not able to cross the goal line. Will Nelson was able to connect with Peyton Wickersham just before half on a long pass play, but again the Spartans could not punch through to score.
The Spartans showed some progress on defense, but could not maintain the effort. As the game wound down, the Spartans cleared the bench and the Broncos added a couple of late scores.
