JH Football Opens Season Against Summerland

The Boyd county Junior High Football team opened the season with a 14-36 loss to the Summerland Bobcats on a hot Tuesday afternoon. The young Spartans struck first on a long run by Ben Schmitz. The point after failed. The Bobcats came back to take a 6-22 lead into the half.
In the second half, Summerland continued their strong performance and scored another 14. Boyd County capped off scoring with another run by Schmitz and a PAT run by Schmitz. The young Spartans will hope to rebound next week when they take on Niobrara/Verdigre.
