Lady Spartans Go 1-1 to Start the Season
The Boyd County Girls Basketball team hosted the first two games of the season. The team split both Varsity and JV games, losing to North Central and defeating Wausa.
Against the North Central Knights, the Spartans fell 22-37. Kalli Kayl led the team with 12 points, followed by Lauryn Hoffman 4, Heather Atkinson 3, and Haylie Carson 3, Kayl pulled down 12 rebounds, Audrey Mohr and Hannah Drueke 5, Alex Brestel and Lauryn Hoffman 4, Atkinson 2, and Bentley Adams and Carson 1. Atkinson finished with 8 steals, Hoffman 2, Kalli Kayl 1, Kiryn Kayl 1, and Alex Brestel 1.
In the 53-29 win over Wausa, the Spartans were led in scoring by Kahl with 26, followed by Atkinson 7, Lauryn Hoffman 6, Audrey Mohr 4, Daydra Zeisler 2, Drueke 2, Amelia Hoffman 2, Carson 2, and Gracelyn Adams and Bailey Reed 1. Kayl led rebounders with 19, Mohr and Carson 5, Brestel and Drueke 4, Atkinson and Lauryn Hoffman 3, Kiryn Kayl and Reed 2, Zeisler, Adams and Amelia Hoffman 1. Lauryn Hoffman had 4 assists and 6 steals. Atkinson had 4 steals, Zeisler and Drueke 3, and Carson, and Kalli Kayl 2.
In JV action, Boyd County defeated Wausa 23-27, but was defeated by North Central 16-18
Scoring in the North Central game were Amelia Hoffman 7, Bentley Adams 3, Daydra Zeisler 2, Klara Faxen 2, and Audrey Mohr 2.
Scorers in the Wausa game were Hoffman 12, Kiryn Kayl 3, Adams 3, Leah Jockens 2, Natasha Zeisler 2, Daydra Zeisler 2, Mohr 2, and Rylie Haun 1. Haun pulled down 8 rebounds.
