The Boyd County Girls basketball team competed in the Stuart Tournament over the weekend and then hosted Chamber/Wheeler Central on Monday.
ame of the tournament the Spartans fell to O'Neill St. Mary's 13-25. Eckert led the way for the spartans in scoring with 4. Also contributing to the offensive total was Lexy Tikalsky-1, Claire Reiman-2, Mazee Johnson-2, Ashlynn Finnegan-2, Jaylee Lechtenberg-2
In the second game of the tournament the Spartans took on Stuart, a team that had beaten them badly earlier in the season. The score was only 8-11 at the half. However, the Spartans struggled to score in the second half and fell 10-20. Scoring was balanced as 5 different players made a basket for the young Spartans-Elizabeth Bernt, Brooklyn Eckert, ReNae Kluckman, Jaylee Lechtenberg, and Michaela Roth.
In the CWC game on Monday, the Spartans were defeated 10-29. Eckert and Lechtenberg took care of the scoring with 5 points each.
The team will play again on January 29th when they travel to West Holt.
